My First Publication

Check out Stuffed Magazine, summer 2010. I am fortunate enough to be featured in this edition.

This is my latest project, a crazy quilt inspired cosmetic bag. I recently picked up the book Crazy Quilting The complete Guide by J. Marsha Michler. The front cover was enough to get me to pick it up and take it home. The beautiful detailed work and bright colors is something I can't resist. When trying to figure out how to finish off my patchwork pouch I pulled out Crazy Quilting and taught myself some new stitches and took my time.

My workspace is out of control! I have supplies stacked on supplies stacked on supplies. All due to a great week. I got published, I got in to Craft Lake City and most importantly I have been wanting to create again.
More pictures to come this week of my recent projects.

I haven't been inspired to sew for quite sometime. Spring comes along and I get too busy and just want to be outside. Above is my first project in a while, I made some booties for an amazing mother. I hope she enjoys them!

Felt projects from this weekend; rings, brooches, bobby pins and earrings. What can I say, I am still waiting for my inspiration for bigger projects. Hearts and miniature seems to be the theme but we will see how it evolves.

I watched Alice in Wonderland last night; I enjoyed the story but fell in love with the Mad Hatter's brilliant makeup and Alice's beautiful costumes. Did anyone else notice her fingerless lace gloves? Attention to detail always catches my eye and my appreciation. I love the juxtaposition of dull earthy tones with a pop of color.
I LOVE COLOR! Today the yellow tights are for you Alice in Wonderland.

Here is my latest project. I spent my Sunday afternoon hand embroidering and sewing these little hearts. They are made of wool felt, ahh how I love wool felt. The only problem is the limited range of colors available at my local fabric store. The hearts are not quite sure what they will become yet, brooches, rings, necklaces.... only time will tell.

I have decided to start a blog, one dedicated to my hobby. It is hard for me to write, so I am not quite sure what I am doing. It is always that task that is put off but it is also a tool that I want to have. So this blog will be dedicated to things I love to do…SEWING, embroidery, and collecting craft books. I hope you enjoy.
